There could be many use cases where you would like to sync return data back to Shopify to keep your accounting in sync and get full a view of the returns activity. This process not only streamlines your operations but also ensures that all return-related actions are consistently reflected on your Shopify store.
Here are few of the benefits of syncing return/exchange data on Shopify:

Steps to enable Return Prime to update return status back to Shopify:
Log on to your Return Prime dashboard and go to Settings > General
Scroll down to the Sync return data on Shopify option:
3. Check the box next to "Sync returns status on Shopify." Click on enable to provide the required permissions and you will now be redirected to Shopify.
This consent will only be required when you are enabling this feature for the first time on your store.
NOTE - You need to be an admin user of your Shopify store to approve any app permissions. If you are not the admin user, please ask your admin to login to Return Prime and then enable this feature for you.
4. Click on update button to enable syncing. Once done, you will be redirected back to Return Prime.
All your future returns data will now be synced on your Shopify store.
Here is when Return Prime will sync the returns status on your Shopify store:
When a request is approved on Return Prime: As soon as any return/exchange request is approved on Return Prime, we will automatically create a return for that item on the corresponding Shopify order. The order status on Shopify for that item will be updated to "Return in progress".
When a request is marked as inspected on Return Prime: Once you mark the item as inspected on Return Prime, the return status will be updated to "Returned" on Shopify.
Note: Refund status if done using any mode except Original payment mode will not be synced back to Shopify as the support for same is not available yet from Shopify's end.
